Unity Church of Sun Lakes is a New Thought Community. We celebrate Peace, Love, Light, Joy, and Healing. Our practice is affirmative prayer and positive thinking, and we support each other in living a Spirit-centered life. Our Sunday service is at 10 a.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room of Sun Lakes 1 Country Club. Rev. Jeanne MacLaughlin delivers the message. If you miss it, it will be shown on YouTube that afternoon. This is the story of a young girl becoming a young woman who had always suffered with a disease for which there was no known cure. Her family told her it was a hereditary weakness. Searching for an answer to her health problems, she attended a lecture that completely changed the way she thought of her life and health. The idea was this: “I am a child of God and, therefore, I do not inherit sickness.” She began to work on this Truth, letting it fill her mind and being. She was healed. When asked what had restored her to health, she replied, “I changed from the old carnal mind that believes in sickness to the Christ Mind of Life and permanent health. I applied spiritual laws, effectively blessing my body temple until it manifested the innate health of Spirit.” This woman’s name is Myrtle Fillmore. She was married to Charles Fillmore, and together they became the co-founders of Unity Church, Silent Unity, and printed and published Daily Word, Unity Magazine, Wee Wisdom, and more messages sent around the world. Healing Letters is the collection of letters sent to the people who had asked for her help and her responses to their questions. Because of her loving and giving nature, she has been referred to as the heart of Unity. I see her as the true Mother of the World-Wide Unity Movement. Today we love, honor, and are grateful for Mary Caroline “Myrtle” Page Fillmore (Aug. 6, 1845-Oct.6, 1931).

Activities: Church is held Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room of Sun Lakes 1 Country Club, 25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd. Look for the directional signs to the covered parking area and meeting room.

Reiki: Meets in Room A-2 of the Cottonwood clubhouse every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and also on Zoom for those who are out of town or unable to meet in person. To join on Zoom, email [email protected] so he can put you on the zoom list.

Prayer Partners: Meets Wednesday at 10 a.m. on Zoom. To join, email Julia at [email protected] so she can add you to the list for Zoom.

Unity Community: On April 11 from 1 to 2:30 p.m., a group of us carpooled to Matthew’s Crossing to pack food packages for Meals to Grow, a program to provide meals to children in need on weekends when they are not in school. A sign-up sheet is at church on Sundays.

Unity Explores: The trip to Bashas’ Art and Historical Museum was rescheduled. We are looking for the best date, Monday through Friday, so more people can go. We will have lunch at Pita Jungle together afterwards. What’s your best date? Sign up at church.
