Are you stable while standing on your right leg for 20 seconds? And your left leg? And with your eyes closed? Or do you have a fear of falling which may be the cause of your less-active lifestyle?

To help boost self-confidence, enhance posture, core strength, mobility, stability and agility which all contribute to good balance, attend the BETTER Balance class starting Thursday, June 6.

Kim Kubsch, Certified Tai Chi Instructor, Balance Coach, Fall Prevention Advocate and Certified Aging in Place Specialist in Sun Lakes, has created this 45-minute class to focus on both static (non-moving) and dynamic (in motion) balance for older adults.

This new class, BETTER Balance with Kim Kubsch, starts on Thursday, June 6, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the Mirror Room in Sun Lakes Country Club. The fee is $5.00 per drop-in class, and all abilities are welcome.

Having taught easy and gentle Tai Chi for the past eight years, Kim finds the most common reason her participants attend her classes is to improve balance. Together with 12 participants ranging from 60 to 99, she created a video titled Make Your Balance Great Again.

The class focus is to learn how to maintain and improve balance, decrease risk for falls, increase range of motion and strength through physical exercise while maintaining independence. Attend BETTER Balance class to shift your mind from I CAN’T to I CAN make balance better!
