Sun Lakes Country Club will host local author Ann Lee Miller for a Creative Writing Workshop on Thursdays, January 12-February 2, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Friendship Room.
The workshop will focus on how to plan and structure short stories, novels and nonfiction essays, articles and memoirs. Writers will practice showing the action of their stories rather than telling about it. Dialogue and setting will also be covered. Participants will listen to short lectures, discuss writing concepts, and develop their own writing projects. More information about the workshop can be found at AnnLeeMiller.com/classes.
Miller holds a BA in creative writing and is working on a Master of Fine Arts in the field. She is an instructional assistant in the English Department at Grand Canyon University. Over 100,000 copies of Miller’s five novels have been downloaded from Amazon. She also blogs a memoir about growing up on a sailboat at AnnLeeMiller.com. Miller’s writing workshop last spring at Sun Lakes Country Club was well received.
The cost, which includes four two-hour workshop sessions, is $50. Enroll at AnnLeeMiller.com/classes or call 480-735-1950 and leave a message.
