Young Home Team and Redeemed Team Are Winter League Champs

The Young Home Team-sponsored club, managed by Gary Hillabolt, won the Lakes Division Winter Season title with a 13-3 record, easily topping the second-place Skyview Digital Media team, managed by Dave Kratz, by four games. Skyview finished the season at 9-7. Doug Warwick led the division in batting average (.717) and slugging percentage (.908). Kim Van Nausdle finished a close second in both categories (.698 and .896, respectively). Van Nausdle was also the doubles leader with 31, while Garnet Hammer led in triples with 12, and Bill Jacobson led in homers with 3.

In the Sun Division, the Redeemed Team-sponsored club, managed by Marty Hobby, edged the Spooner PT squad, managed by Joe Commisto, to win the Winter pennant. The Redeemed Team finished with a 13-5 record, while Spooner went 10-6. George Siegele led the division in both batting average (.836) and slugging percentage (1.536). Mike Lebet finished second in both categories (.809 and 1.476). Dave Platt led the division with 30 doubles, while Rick Oien led in triples with 7. Marty Hobby and George Siegele tied with 33 homers each.
