Restorative yoga in September offers a chance to slow down and rejuvenate, especially as the season transitions to fall. Look forward to a deeply relaxing and calming experience. Plan to use props like blankets, bolsters, blocks, and straps to support your body in comfortable, passive poses held for several minutes. The focus is on releasing tension, reducing stress, and promoting overall well-being through stillness and mindful breathing.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of what to expect:

Environment: A peaceful and supportive space for relaxation

Props: Restorative yoga utilizes props like blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, and eye pillows to support the body in restful poses.

Supported Poses: You’ll be guided into gentle, supported poses designed to promote relaxation and release.

Breath Awareness: Breathwork (pranayama) is often incorporated to deepen relaxation and focus.

Guided Meditation: Some classes include guided meditation, affirmations, or other mindfulness practices to further calm the mind.

Low Lighting, Quiet Music, Sound Healing: Classes might integrate dim lights, quiet music, and sound healing techniques to enhance the restorative experience.

This is an ideal practice for anyone dealing with stress, burnout, fatigue, injury, or simply looking to unwind deeply. The class is done on the floor and is suitable for all fitness levels and can be a powerful addition to your self-care routine.

Please join Elise for class at the Sun Lakes Cottonwood Palo Verde Fitness Center.

Classes are Monday and Friday at 10 a.m. The cost is $5 per class or prepay $20 to get five classes.

Hope to see you there!
