Do Yoga with Margie at the CWPV Fitness Center

Margie Parrish

If you suffer with an achy back, sore knees, tight shoulders, and hamstrings, you might consider taking a yoga class. A well-rounded yoga class helps move our joints safely and strengthens and stretches our body and relaxes our mind. Many of the poses challenge our balance to help prevent falls and fractures.

In my yoga class you will learn to breathe efficiently, improve your posture, build more muscle mass, and understand the power of mindfulness. Yoga is done in your bare feet to strengthen your feet and ankles, which helps with balance.

Yin Yang Yoga Flow is good for fit seniors who want to be challenged and are open to trying something new. Yin Yang Yoga Flow classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m.

If you want gentle yoga, come to Yoga for Healthy Aging on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. In this class we do gentle yoga poses standing, sitting, and lying on the mat. Poses are held to build strength and balance.

Beginners are welcome if they can get up from the floor without assistance. Please bring a yoga mat. Yoga props are provided, including mats, blocks, straps, and blankets.

Both Yin Yang Yoga Flow and Yoga for Healthy Aging are safe for seniors who want to stay healthy and learn new ways to move, breathe, and relax.

The drop-in fee is $5 per class. You can pay with Venmo at Margaret-Parrish-9.
