Paullene Caraher
Experience the benefits of Energy Yoga with Paullene at the SunBird Golf Resort, Navajo Room, third floor.
Mornings: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. – Nidra Yoga on the second Tuesday (July 10); Mondays and Tuesdays – Chair Yoga and Meditation class 10:00 a.m.
There will be no afternoon classes until September.
Note: New Class on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. This will be a chair yoga class with meditation. The class will be about 45 minutes with about 25 minutes of yoga exercise and 20 minutes of meditation. This will be a series of five classes for $20, so that is less than $5.00 a class. Classes are every Monday and Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Navajo Room, so make your plans. People have been asking for a class like this, so here it is. Sign up by calling or emailing Paullene.
You pay for the five classes at the start. You can choose which days you want to come. So if you miss a Monday, you can come on a Tuesday. No refunds if you miss a class. Some commitment is required to get the benefit of this exercise and meditation. You will be given information to practice at home during the week.
Energy Yoga includes tapping and slapping the body to increase movement of blood and energy through the body.
Enjoy exercising your whole body by increasing strength and flexibility through joint rotations and stretching. We do some modified poses, called asanas, such as Mountain Pose, Warrior One and modified squats. These increase bone density. Throughout the hour, we usually cover all the joints and give extra attention to the hip and knee and ankle joints. Yoga is not about being limber, but about exercising the muscles and activating the connective tissues and ligaments which hold your body together. Over time, you will get more limber.
Nidra Yoga is done on the second Tuesday for the morning class. This is a relaxing and meditative practice to relieve stress. Either lie down on a mat or relax in a chair. Listen to Paullene’s voice as your body relaxes and your mind is guided into a restful state of consciousness and awareness. This gives the cells and chance to recuperate while you are quieting the mind.
