“This is way better than narcotics!” a newer student said to me after his fourth Chair Yoga class ended at the Cottonwood Country Club. He’s been on a combination of opiates and morphine for pain in both the upper and lower back and for serious knee problems in both knees. In an effort to be off the narcotics and at the recommendation of his physical therapist, he began attending Chair Yoga classes. He stretched and moved his body, telling me how great it is to have a clearer mind and be moving. (Note: please seek the advice of your doctor before discontinuing any medication.)

We have a variety of yoga classes for mixed levels of students, whether you’re strong and can move fast or you’re active but want something a little slower or you want to gain strength and stay mobile but would feel best in a chair or you would like to stretch on the floor in relaxing yoga poses. Try any or all of the five of us teachers (see the schedule below) to see which class and teaching style suits your needs.

For the month of November, every student who attends Noell’s yoga classes will get a raffle ticket entered into a drawing. The winner of the drawing gets to come to Noell’s classes for free during the entire month of December! (Raffle does not apply to the other yoga classes. Classes are $5 each. Cottonwood Room A-6 (Dance Room). No need to bring equipment. No advanced booking. Just bring $5 cash and walk into a class that seems right for you.

3:00 p.m. – Chair Yoga (Cindy)


11:00 a.m. – Gentle Strengthening Yoga (Noell)

12:00 noon – Chair Yoga (Noell)


9:00 a.m. – Yin/Restorative (Kary)

1:00 p.m. – Chair Yoga (Noell)

2:00 p.m. – Gentle Strengthening (Noell) (more stretching and core strengthening)


1:00 p.m. – Gentle Strengthening (Suchen)

2:00 p.m. – Chair Yoga (Suchen)

Sundays (all with Chris)

1:00 p.m. – Gentle Strengthening

2:00 p.m. – Gentle Strengthening

4:00 p.m. – Flow Yoga (fast moving class)

5:00 p.m. – Yin/Restorative Yoga
